Why do we find it difficult to ask for help from others talk more of accepting the said help. Is it cultural or is it just human nature? Growing up, I know mother dearest always said not to accept anything from strangers and that just became the mantra. Anyways I read about the FRSC(Federal Road Safety Corp) Commander who decided to take it upon himself to check the nails and hair of the staff and then proceeded to cut the hair of the female staff whose hair style wasn't at par with the FRSC standard.( Even typing this crap stinks to me.) It brought back memories of how a teacher tried to do same to me in one of the military schools many moons ago. On that faithful day I had come to school with my hair short, all blown out and well styled. I was truly feeling myself...didn't realise this female teacher wasn't particularly pleased with it. Follow me @Nolimit2life The other day I seasoned chicken and forgot to put it in the fridge... it is summer here so it doesn't take too long for perishable food to turn bad. Luckily I discovered on time and I quickly boiled and grilled it. But I noticed there were flies all over the place and I just couldn't fathom why or what caused it seeing that I've already cooked the chicken. I suddenly looked in the corner of the table top and found the bowl I used to season the chicken...that was the culprit. Still don't know how I missed it but right after washing this off, the flies probably got bored and left (party is over flies!) Then it occurred to me that this is how life plays out, we fire-fight sometimes trying to solve little problems or even big problems that keeps popping up like boils in unwanted regions. If we deal with the root cause of this issue(s)... the source of this problem(s)... then just maybe we will be able to win the war and not just a battle. ...

Follow me @Nolimit2life Before I tell you about the quote that inspired this post, I just want to share that I've been around this loss of motivation mountain many times over and I heard this quote and it resonated with me in ways even I myself couldn't imagine. Now here's the thing, it isn't enough to be talented, it is important to actually develop your skill (whatever that is) and this is done mostly via, practice, training and discipline. When motivation dies...Let discipline take over ...yes that was quote I read and it is so apt I could write a whole book on that(but I won't..yet). Sometimes it feels like there's no reason to complete that project, that task you've set for yourself but you need to be disciplined enough to complete it. Discipline is not a switch to put on or off although with time, it may become so. Discipline builds up as a result of deliberate and consistent actions taken over a course of time. The two brothers in question decided to react and they went in unnecessarily hard on the lady. It was incredibly ridiculous in my opinion and a major embarrassment to men (real men) world wide! You see I'm not even saddened by the fact that 2 (not one) grown ass men took time out of their supposedly non existent schedule to insult a woman, who probably stepped out of line but come onnnnn... they went too far. Follow me @Nolimit2life So I saw a couple of teenagers buying weed/drug from a supplier today on my way to lunch. I literally froze and stood staring at them. I was speechless and absolutely unhappy. I felt like disrupting the whole show with *koboko but of course I remembered where I was and readjusted to my environment immediately. The boys are within my nephew's age range! I am so sure of that; yet they had the effrontery to be buying weed in front of me! Now I understand how this boys stab each other with no conscience. Of course if you've taken a mind altering substance like weed or whatever the heck they were buying your conscience is subdued and temporarily buried! These youths are exposed to unnecessary hazards. Guess it's part of youthful exuberance. But seriously our society needs help!!! Speaking of youths, I'm off to call my nephew.

Follow me @Nolimit2life Dear God, I had a conversation with my friend about how people just go crazy and behave badly after a tragic situation as a coping mechanism for the trauma they experienced and I was of the opinion that it is all about choice. They chose to react that way, it does not excuse their bad behaviour but it sure explains it. We talked about the pros of having a great support system who will be there to speak life to your dead situation and we both agreed on the importance of good people around. What we didn't talk about was a situation where you really don't feel like sharing what and how you're feeling with your support system, not because you'll be judged plus there's nothing to judge anyways but because you're so angry, frustrated, tired, drained and mad that you can't put all those feelings into words without sounding like an ungrateful wretch because if there's anything you've been, it is Faithful dear Lord. To look at myself and my life critically and actually take stock of my actions and reactions.  Where I'm at, my motives for all I've done, analyse it all and check for adverse variances and deficits. Up my game in areas that needs improvement and actually pat myself on the back for where I fared well. It is easier said than done plus seriously it will be easier to get a shrink lol! how do you even xray/audit your life?
