So What Do You Think?

Hey peops, hope your week has been groovy!...I'm loving my new template, what do you think?

Been thinking of blogging in pidgin for a while...and I think I may do just that in the next thankfulness post...what do you think?

You know how people say naija is corrupt bladdy bladdy bla...I carried out a brief survey and asked some people what they'll do if their uncle, aunt, sister, brother, friend becomes a big shot in government....responses ranged from I'll relocate back to naija to be near the "seat of power" to "I'll go get me some contract" to "I'll make sure I get him/her to sort me out"....
Then I remind them of what they said about naija being corrupt in the first place and they are speechless for a while before they start defending their action...
Anyways I'm not knocking/judging or condemning anybody o...bottom line is...if you know you won't do better if you had the choice, then kindly "mechionu"* and stop proclaiming corruption over 9ja...
No I'm not trying to promote corruption...all I'm saying is practice what you preach...okay what do you think about that?

It's Friday YAY!!! I'm really looking forward to the weekend...my friends and I are hanging out...can't wait!!! So what are you guys up to this weekend?whatever you decide to do, just have fun...remember...you only live ones...

P.S
I know we sometimes feel overwhelmed in this journey called lyfe! but I encourage you to be strong enough to take a licking and keep on ticking and when lyfe decides to give you lemons...come on my blogville peops...make lemonade!!!

*Mechionu is keep your mouth shut in Ibo.

I agree with you on the 'practice what you preach' sentiment. How sad that some wouldn't think that this would be the chance to use their relative's position to make suggestions that will benefit the entire country (or region) better. If I ever had a relative in a high position, I'd use my "connections" to get them to listen to issues that I think should be brought to the ears of the "bigshots". I also wouldn't hesitate to let this relative know the ways in which I think the government is doing things wrong; lol!

Mechionu! I like the sound of that word (or how I think it sounds, seeing as I'm Yoruba), lol even despite its meaning.

Have a great weekend! I don't have any weekend plans yet...hopefully something will crop up! And yes o, the "you only live once" sentiment is heard loud and clear over here!

Seeing as green is my fav color, I think your new template is great!

As for the corruption thing, it's sad but it seems to have become a way of life. Sometimes we don't even know that we're also part of it all!

It takes a definite choice to be different and it begins with me!

@ GNG…knowing you (at least your mind!), I’m sure you’ll do all you said you’ll do and much more!!! I’m a Yoruba gal too o! But I like to use words from different tribes…you’ll be seeing a lot of that in my posts and comments on people’s blogs! I’m a WaZoBia chic!!!
Lol but really and truly you know you only leave once…and the truth is…most of the time, what we live to regret is what we did NOT do not what we did…what ever you decide to do this weekend…enjoy!!!

@ wordsmith...Thanks wordy! Glad you like it

@ pink-satin... Yes o!!! make lemonade!Sometimes life doesn’t give us what we deserve…we have to TAKE it!!!

@ Enkay... Green is my fav colour too!!! It will definitely feature heavily in my wedding(p.s…note to my knight in shining amour…you better get off that horse and take a Ferrari!...in other words hurry up jo! What are you waiting for…mscheew! lol)
Daring to be different is sure by choice…but I really hope and pray it’s a choice we all decide to embrace!

Happy Friday...

We only pray for grace when we have relatives in power...only our demands along can push them to corruption...

And the truth is money and power have a way of influencing people...it takes a lot to be able to stick to your principles when you see illegal money swimming around you and everyone else is making progress with it. We need the help of God.

lol @ Mechonu.

Its not easy, but indeed we cannot expect 'Nigeria' to get better, if we do not expect better of ourselves, right?

I know someone who was granted a 'contract' even though [s]he never bid, and didn't even have the experience to produce on that contract.

I am proud to say that this person politely came up with an excellent excuse for why that was not a project for him/her at the moment and moved on. My friend would have made millions of dollars, but because [s]he believes in doing the right thing, refused to chop.

We need more of that even at a more minuscule level not just in Naija but the world over. Anyway, let me stop 'preaching'. How you dey?

NIGERIAN CURIOSITY
IT WAS SO MUCH EASIER WHEN I ONLY HAD ONE...

I agree with everyone, and I like the example that Solomsydelle gave. I pray we have more people like that in Nigeria, and that we all would start in our own way to make +ve changes

I hope your weekend would be great.

I am not too much of a green fan but seeing it's our country's colour, i have no choice than to bear with it...lol, i think it looks good though
I so agree with this post! It's amazing how many people have this mentality. Naija is on its way to getting better! infact it's getting better, period!

Now this transformation is a shocker to me . . . I love new template though. Naija 4 lyfe. Sometimes I wish I could be a little more patriotic but I can’t seem to get over the wish to have been from some place else. Notwithstanding, I still love NAIJA. Hmmm, having a relative or friend who’s top shot in government? Man, that would mean all my problems are over. . . lol. Seriously now, that would be an opportunity for me to have someone up there whom I can really tell my views on how he could help make the country better. Afterall, those up there make the policies. . . This weekend? Honestly, ain’t got no plans at the moment. I’m just glad it’s Friday . . . No work till Tuesday! Yay! Everyday, the world seems to get more dangerous, what with the endless insecurities all over. Meanwhile, I just heard from the grapevine that Geebee has been nominated on naijabloggersaward for BEST STUDENT BLOG. Please show this brova some love and go vote from 12 midnight today. Cheers.

The number one thing wrong with Nigeria is our many dangerous mindsets. Listen to these buggers talk, for instance. LOL

Nice template by the way. Did I tell you I used to think you were male? "No Limit" just didnt sound like something a girl would use.

A tomboy perhaps? [thinking deeply]

o..k, this looks like unfamiliar territory. i think im going to download ur blog and read at my leisure!...i'll let u knw when im done

its easy to talk, talk talk and when it comes to the actual action, it doesnt match all the talking.
not only as relates to Nigeria, in little everyday things like blogging. there are some posts i refrain from commenting on cos i dont want to sound like im giving advice that i wont take myself if the shoe was on my leg.
