For a second there I forgot my manners *smiles sheepishly*!!!
Hey blogville peops...HAPPY NEW YEAR TO YOU ALL!!!May the Lord spare our lives to see many more years!(amen)
Hope we've all been enjoying the weekend and I presume we haven't broken any of our new year resolutions...even if you have...don't knock yourself...just move on and try again...abi?
Right...this is my first Ten things post...I really hope to be consistent in putting this up(did somebody shout amen? ha I need it!!!
Here is a breakdown of what I'm thankful for...
1 Life: Being alive is a privilege, it’s not what I've done or not done, it is God's grace and protection
2 Family: I am grateful for my family...as crazy and unique as we are...you just can't come between us...I didn't choose this guys...God chose them for me...and even though we fight hard, we also love hard!!!...we've been through thick and thin...through the highs and the lows...but we are stronger...I am blessed indeed to have such beautiful crazy folks!!!
3 Friends: friends are families chosen by us...like I said earlier, I didn't choose members of my family but at least I have the freedom to choose my friends...they are amazing support in my life...only a friend will tell you when your mouth stinks...I appreciate the fact that they can level up with me and chastise me if need be or compliment me *always*…as the case may be!!!
4 Blogville: Through blogville, I've been able to make new friends and even though I haven't met many of them, I just appreciate the opportunity to learn from these great minds and view issues from different paradigms...I am also thankful for the opportunity to air my views without being crucified...it's MY blog after all abi? And if you don't like it, you either shape up...or ship out period!!!(lol)
5 Work: Hmmm I recently saw a letter I wrote to God about one dead end job I had 2yrs ago dated October '07...I can't but thank Him for giving me my present one He's is truly amazing and He truly listens!!!
6 Salvation: It is a privilege to know Him, if not for anything, I have the assurance of what I’m here for and the security of where I’m going ...I am truly thankful
7 Good health...Ask the bedridden patient in the hospital what it's like...and then you'll understand why I am thankful...
8 For a new year...2008 was an amazing year...but I know 2009 will be more exciting...no doubt about this!
9 Second chance: Now I don't know about y'all but I know that I didn't achieve everything I set out to do in 2008...no issues there though but I'm grateful for the opportunity of a second chance...and I know…He sure is a God of a second chance…there ain’t no stopping moi!!!
10 A warm duvet and a roof over my head!!! Lol…funny but not funny...volunteered for some homeless head count project and I was shocked to discover that some people actually live on the street even during this dreary winter season...now I hope you understand why I'm thankful for that roof over my head and my thick warm duvet! Nothing bits curling under it and zooming of to la la land right in front of the TV with my hand wrapped round a mug of hot choc (*gosh I'm dreaming in front of my pc at work*... somebody wake me up!) especially on a cold Friday night like this.
Didn't change edit number 10 cos I actually wrote this on Friday...
